In this inspiring watercolor class with Pam Carraway, you'll learn the techniques to create stunning portraits of your beloved canine companion. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this class is perfect for anyone who wants to bring their dog to life on paper.
All skill levels are welcome! Pam will guide you step-by-step through the process, providing personalized instruction and support. Bring a photo of your dog for inspiration, or choose from a selection of reference images provided.
Let's celebrate the joy and love of our furry friends together!
All supplies included and all levels welcome. Feel free to bring your own supplies if you prefer.
About Pam
Pam Carraway is a watercolor painter and teacher from Edmonds, WA. She loves playing with colors and learning the ins and outs of what can be done with watercolor. Fur, feathers, and faces are her favorite subjects. Pam has been selected for the Edmonds Arts Festival Gallery 2021 - 2023 and was a selected artist in the Edmonds Artwalk February 2023. She also teaches at Cole Art Studio, Red Sky Gallery, and Mystic Art Supply. Pam's artwork can be found at Mystic Art Supply or the Edmonds Summer Market. She is also available for pet portrait commissions.

Bring Your Strawberries to Life: Stumpwork Embroidery Workshop
Want to add dimension to your embroidery? Join fiber artist and author Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ for a delightful afternoon of stumpwork.
In this 3-hour workshop, you'll learn the captivating art of stumpwork, a technique that uses padding and wire to create 3D elements that seem to magically pop off the fabric. We'll focus on creating a stunning sculptural strawberry and its lush leaves.
You'll learn:
- Essential stumpwork techniques, including padding, wiring, and shaping.
- Key embroidery stitches: stem stitch, pistil stitch, detached chain stitch, berry stitch, couching, long and short satin stitch, buttonhole stitch, and corded detached buttonhole stitch.
All materials are provided. This workshop is best suited for those with some prior embroidery experience, but all enthusiastic makers are welcome.
Youth Summer Art Camp -Rainforest Adventure Art Camp, June 16th – 18th

Sculpt & Stamp: Create unique clay tiles inspired by rainforest flora and fauna, learning slab-building techniques and adding intricate details.
Paint the Jungle: Dive into a world of color with painting projects. These projects capture the lush landscapes of the rainforest. They also showcase the diverse wildlife.
Multimedia Magic: Design vibrant multimedia collages, combining various materials to create layered, textured rainforest scenes.
Beaded Felt Treasures: Craft beautiful beaded felt squares. Add intricate designs and embellishments. These represent the rainforest’s unique patterns and textures.
Learn About the Rainforest: Discover fascinating facts about rainforest animals, plants, and ecosystems while creating your art.
This hands-on, immersive camp will:

Beginning Drawing

Embark on a creative adventure and learn to see the world with an artist's eye!
This introductory drawing course is designed for those with little to no prior experience.
We’ll focus on building foundational skills such as blocking in shapes, shading and understanding perspective through hands-on experience with various drawing mediums. This will allow you to develop your ability to observe and translate what you see onto paper while fostering your creativity and visual expression.

Elevate Your Landscape Painting: A Journey from Observation to Abstraction with Anton Nowels
Four Day Workshop, June 19th - 22nd, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Join us June 19th-22nd, 2025 for a four-day painting workshop exploring the beauty of the Sammamish Valley. Learn techniques in both plein air and studio settings to capture the essence of farms, fields, and flowers.
Capture the essence of a place and translate it into a powerful work of art. This workshop with award-winning artist Anton Nowels will guide you through the process of moving fluidly between plein air observation and studio abstraction. Learn how to:
- Gather essential "color notes" and impressions directly from nature.
- Integrate these observations into both representational and abstract studio paintings.
- Harness the power of memory to create more inventive and personal artwork.
- Explore the approaches of artists who have masterfully blended plein air and abstraction, including Richard Diebenkorn, Eric Aho, Sergei Bongart, Maynard Dixon, Franz Kline, Monet, Josef Albers, Joan Michell and more.
The workshop will include studio time and time plein air painting in the beautiful Sammamish Valley.
Anton will provide demonstrations in both plein air landscape painting and studio-based representational abstraction. All 2D mediums are welcome (instructor will teach in oils). Open to all levels.

Day 3: Studio – Memory and Deconstruction

About Anton Novels
Anton Nowels is a nationally recognized artist whose work spans a variety of subjects, from representational landscapes to abstract impressionism. His paintings explore the dynamic interplay between observation and interpretation, inviting viewers to experience the world through his unique artistic lens.
A Signature Member of both the Oil Painters of America (OPA) and the American Impressionist Society (AIS), Anton's work has garnered significant acclaim, most recently earning him a Landscape Painting award at the OPA National Exhibition. His dedication to artistic growth and exploration led him to participate in the prestigious Brinton Museum's Residency program in Big Horn, Wyoming, this year.
Anton is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with aspiring artists. As a sought-after workshop instructor at esteemed institutions like the Scottsdale Artists’ School and the Winslow Art Center, he delves into color theory approaches inspired by masters such as Charles Hawthorne, Henry Hensche, Sergei Bongart, and Josef Albers. He encourages his students to experiment with diverse painting techniques and find their own individual voices.
The Maynard Dixon Legacy Museum in Mt. Carmel, Utah, proudly represents Anton's work and has welcomed him as a guest artist at their Maynard Dixon Country events, further solidifying his connection to the rich tradition of American art.
Anton's artistic journey is rooted in a strong foundation of both contemporary and fine art. He earned scholarships to study with renowned artists Ned Mueller, Camille Przewodek, and Romel de la Torre at the Scottsdale Artists’ School. His academic pursuits at Arizona State University allowed him to explore contemporary art practices, including performance, installation, and video, providing a broad perspective that informs his current work.
Currently, Anton is immersed in creating a series of large-scale paintings that push the boundaries between representation and abstract impressionism, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to innovation and artistic evolution.
