Youth March Wednesday - Print Making

Do you love making art with different materials and techniques?
Do you want to learn how to create your own stamps and prints?
Then join us for this fun and creative art class, where you will explore the world of block printing and printmaking!
Block printing is a process where you carve or draw a design on a rubber stamp block and then use ink to transfer it onto paper or fabric.
We will also be printing our own tshirst this month! Please bring one white or light colored tshirt to the first class.

Youth March Thursdays - Embroidery and Print Making

Thursdays, 5:00 - 6:30 pm
March 6, 13, 20 and 27th
As a special treat this month, we will have a guest instructor on March 6th.
Melissa Galbraith, author and teacher, will teach a kids embroidery class,
Kids will learn how to embroider flowers using 3 beginner embroidery stitches. This class is great for kids looking to get started with hand embroidery. They’ll learn how to place their fabric in the hoop, transfer the pattern, split apart their thread, and stitch the satin stitch, leaf stitch, and stem stitch. Each attendee will receive a full kit that includes: a wooden embroidery hoop, flower transfer designs, an embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, cream cotton fabric, and printed instructions.
We will spend the rest of the month exploring print-making!

Come play with clay.
Take a spin on the wheel and engage in hand-built ceramic projects.
Topics covered include throwing on the wheel, trimming, and glazing techniques. Students will learn to create functional and decorative pieces using the pottery wheel. The class is designed for beginner students. All supplies provided.

Embark on a creative journey into the heart of the rainforest! Join us for a three-day art camp. We’ll explore the vibrant colors of this amazing ecosystem. We’ll also discover fascinating creatures and lush textures.

Sculpt & Stamp: Create unique clay tiles inspired by rainforest flora and fauna, learning slab-building techniques and adding intricate details.
Paint the Jungle: Dive into a world of color with painting projects. These projects capture the lush landscapes of the rainforest. They also showcase the diverse wildlife.
Multimedia Magic: Design vibrant multimedia collages, combining various materials to create layered, textured rainforest scenes.
Beaded Felt Treasures: Craft beautiful beaded felt squares. Add intricate designs and embellishments. These represent the rainforest’s unique patterns and textures.
Learn About the Rainforest: Discover fascinating facts about rainforest animals, plants, and ecosystems while creating your art.
This hands-on, immersive camp will:

- Create a landscape with a magical portal.
- Sculpt paper mache dragon egss.
- Make clay castle towers and garden knows.
- Explore different art techniques: including sculpting, painting, drawing, and collage.
