Youth Art Ages 5 - 8 February

Mondays, 4:30 - 5:30
February 3, 10, 17 and 24th
Explore a variety of mediums, including drawing, painting, glass fusion, silk painting, and pottery, while learning fundamental art principles such as color, value, and painting skills—all in a safe and supportive creative environment.
Registration is monthly. New mediums are explored each month. Sign up for a year to try all of our mediums.
Ceramics Wheel Throwing Class - Monday Evenings, February

Registration includes a $15 supply fee
February 3, 10 and 17th
Mondays 6:30 - 8:30 pm
- Weekly for two hours
- Limited to five students
Come play with clay and learn the fundamentals of ceramics wheel throwing. Topics covered include throwing on the wheel, trimming, and glazing techniques. Students will learn to create functional and decorative pieces using the pottery wheel.
All levels are welcome.
This is a mixed Teen and Adult Class - Ages 13 +
Oil Painting February - Afternoon, Open Paint

Oil Painting Open Paint
February 4, 11, 18th and 25th
Tuesdays, 3:30 - 5:30 pm
This class is oil painting and drawing lessons for students 14 and over, mixed adults and teens.
If you are a new student, plan on spending your first class getting to know your oil color palette and completing a color wheel.
After the first session, students work on their own pieces at their own pace. Most paintings require a minimum of three classes to complete.
You can work from your photo reference or one of mine. See the BLOG page on the website for helpful tips and reference images.
Please email me a copy of the image you would like to work from, your skill level, and anything in particular you are interested in learning.
An iPad or laptop works best for viewing your images. Printed photos work as well.
Wear old clothes as oil paint stains. You will be added to the student newsletter, so check your junk email if you don't receive it.
All supplies are provided, but please feel free to bring your favorite paintbrushes. We paint on canvas, but Ampersand Boards are available for an additional charge.

Adult Art February - Charcoal and Pastel Drawing

Wednesday, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Discover the beauty of charcoal and pastels in our Adult Art Class!
In this class, you'll start by exploring the fundamentals of charcoal drawing, learning how to create depth and texture with value.
As the class progresses, you'll move into the world of pastels, experimenting with color and blending techniques to create vibrant and expressive works of art.
We will guide you through each project, helping you develop your skills and confidence as an artist. Join us for a fun and inspiring artistic journey.
Tuition includes a $25 supply fee. Every student will get their own charcoal drawing kit to take home with them at the end of the class.

This month, we will take a closer look at how to paint roosters. Topics covered will include painting and mixing the color black, painting feathers, and those fun backgrounds that I love to create.

As a special treat this month, we will have a guest instructor on Februray 6th.
Dress up your favorite winter animals with scarves, mitts, sweaters and more in this whimsical draw and paint class. Using quality materials and learning simple drawing techniques, artists will select their favorite animals and follow drawing prompts to create a wintertime animal in an inviting and colorful winter landscape.

Youth Art - February, Embroidery and Watercolor

As a special treat this month, we will have a guest instructor on Februray 6th.
Melissa Galbraith, author and teacher, will teach a kids embroidery class,
Kids will learn how to embroider flowers using 3 beginner embroidery stitches. This class is great for kids looking to get started with hand embroidery. They’ll learn how to place their fabric in the hoop, transfer the pattern, split apart their thread, and stitch the satin stitch, leaf stitch, and stem stitch. Each attendee will receive a full kit that includes: a wooden embroidery hoop, flower transfer designs, an embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, cream cotton fabric, and printed instructions.
The rest of the month will focus on watercolor painting.
