Capture the Charm of Bunnies in Watercolor

Join us for a delightful watercolor workshop where you'll learn to paint the endearing charm of bunnies.

In this hands-on experience, you'll discover:

The magic of watercolor: Explore the techniques of layering, glazing, and creating luminous washes.

Capturing the essence of a bunny: Learn to paint fluffy fur, long ears, and those adorable whiskers.

Creating depth and dimension: Master techniques for suggesting form and creating a sense of space on your paper.

All supplies are included, so come prepared to relax, learn, and create a beautiful bunny painting.

Feel free to bring your own supplies if you prefer.

About the Instructor:

 

Pam Carraway is a watercolor painter and teacher from Edmonds, WA.  She loves playing with colors and learning the ins and outs of what can be done with watercolor. Fur, feathers, and faces are her favorite subjects. Pam has been selected for the Edmonds Arts Festival Gallery 2021 - 2023 and was a selected artist in the Edmonds Artwalk February 2023.  Pam's artwork can be found at Mystic Art Supply or the Edmonds Summer Market.

Colorful Clouds Shoe Embroidery

Do your shoes need some pizazz? Want to jazz them up with embroidery? Learn how to embroider your canvas shoes with colorful clouds.

You can join author and fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ for a hands-on, two hour shoe embroidery workshop. In this class, you’ll learn how to get started with shoe embroidery, transfer your design onto shoes, prep your thread, and what tools and stitches are helpful for embroidering on shoes. During the workshop, you’ll be able to choose your own color assortment to create a unique colorful cloud design as well as the satin stitch, long and short satin stitch, and stem stitch. 

Ages 13+ You will need to bring a pair of canvas shoes to class to embroider. Lace up shoes are recommended. All other materials are provided.

Book Binding: Create Your Own Sketchbook

Tuition includes a $20 supply fee

Make your own sketchbook and learn how to bind like “real” bookbinders. This class will show you the Case Binding technique that involves sewing multiple signatures (groups of pages) together to create a traditional book. Students will be able to choose their covers by hand gluing paper or book cloth to board. This is a very versatile technique that is the foundation for traditional book binding, and can be used for large or small books. Each student will walk away with a completed blank sketchbook.

Throughout the day, students will learn the history of Book Binding, watch demonstrations in the techniques, create their covers and sew their pages together. Students are encouraged to bring a lunch or snack and we’ll take a 30 min break to eat. A show and tell at the end is always fun! This is a quick moving and in depth comprehensive workshop and we will undoubtedly use every minute of our time together!

Payment plan available: $100 deposit plus 1 payment of $140.00, paid every four weeks.

Explore the magic of indigo dyeing with fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ.

Learn how to fold and bind fabric to create patterns and designs with indigo dye.

You’ll love seeing the dye change colors, and your designs come to life!

Each attendee will receive four cotton tea towels to create their own patterns and are also encouraged to bring additional materials to dye.

This class can get messy, so please wear clothing you don’t mind getting a little dye on.

If you are bringing additional items to dye, please nothing larger than 3 ft x 3 ft.
